Hints & Tricks
You can tell if an egg is good by putting it in a bowl of water. Fresh eggs will sink. Stale eggs will float.
Cut tomatoes from top-to-bottom instead of side-to-side. This helps the juice from running all over your cutting board.
To get the onion smell off your hands, simply rub them with salt and rub your stainless steel sink.
Never put a delicate glass in hot water bottom first; it will crack from sudden expansion. It will be safe if slipped in edgewise.
Prevent boil-over…Add 2 teaspoons of cooking oil or a pat of butter to water. Noodles or spaghetti will not boil over or stick together.
When a cake recipe calls for flouring the baking pan, use a bit of the dry cake mix instead-no white mess on the outside of the cake.
